Who is Analog in the Digital?
Matthew Genovese built Analog in the Digital around a simple belief: the strongest records come from total commitment to the artist and the world they’re trying to create.
That means getting close enough to the songs, the performances and the intent behind them that one creative vision can carry all the way from the earliest writing and production through recording, mixing and mastering. It’s the kind of continuity behind many of the records that have mattered most — a small, deeply invested team, immersed in the music from beginning to end.
Analog in the Digital lives in that space. Vintage consoles, tape machines and analog recording techniques exist seamlessly alongside modern digital production — not as opposing philosophies, but as parts of the same process. The tools change from record to record; the standard doesn’t: whatever best serves the music.
That pursuit of sound extends beyond making records. Matthew is also Founder and President of STRAUSS ELEKTROAKUSTIK USA, working closely with Jürgen Strauss on reference monitoring, critical-listening systems, studio installations and acoustic calibration — extending that same attention to detail all the way to how the finished record is ultimately heard.
